The Samsung Galaxy S8 was officially released last April and is still widely regarded as one of the best smartphones in the market to date. Samsung was rumoured to release a mini version of the Galaxy S8, named as the Galaxy S8 Mini.
However, it is still unsure whether there will really be a Galaxy S8 Mini or not. Samsung has not released a mini-edition of an S-series phone since the Galaxy S5 Mini and it is highly unlikely that Samsung will reintroduce the trend again once more for the Galaxy S8. However, some might argue that since the Galaxy S8 has gained immense popularity, it is time for Samsung to bring back the Galaxy S mini line again.
There were hearsays claiming that the Samsung Galaxy S8 Mini is amidst development and is rumoured to appear in South Korea soon. However, there is no evidence thus far that supports this claim and Samsung has yet to make an official announcement about this yet, so its appearance still remains unconfirmed.
According to The Leaker, Samsung has no plans to release a Galaxy S8 Mini. The website reported that plans have been shelved as there is no point in creating smaller, less powerful version of the Galaxy S8. Moreover, the Mini versions did not enjoy much success in the past and Samsung will not want to break the momentum it has built with the Galaxy S8 and Note 8.
Galaxy 8 Mini Specifications Rumours
The Galaxy S8 Mini is speculated to have a 5.3-inch screen, which might sound huge for a Mini version but the curved screen edged and slim body will make it feel smaller. Other specs include 32GB of storage, an iris reader, a dedicated Bixby button, and the same 12-megapixel camera that is seen on the standard Galaxy S8.
