5 newly-released Sony Playstation games to keep you occupied this Christmas

07 December 2017 | Febriana Ramadhanya

2017 saw the releases of really, really good games. So, this Christmas, spend your holiday with Sony Playstation games that was or will be released in the fourth quarter. The PS4 games releasing in Q4 include sequels, expansions, DLCs, and new standalone games. Here are 5 Sony Playstation games that will definitely keep you busy during the holidays.

Call of Duty: WWII

If you don’t already have this PS4 game, you need to check yourself. Although Call of Duty: WWII was released back in November 3rd, the campaign, multiplayer, and other additional game modes are enough to keep you busy during the Christmas holidays for hours on end.

The best thing about this Sony Playstation game is perhaps their cooperative Nazi Zombies game mode. While you can find the similar game modes in the previous Call of Duty games, the new Nazi Zombies feature a prologue (featuring Ving Rhames and David Tennant), selectable characters, and a brand-new class system (offense, medic, control, and support). Your and your teammates’ goal is to complete different objectives while surviving endless waves of Nazi zombie hordes.

Star Wars Battlefront II

Can’t wait another week for the Star Wars movie to come out? In anticipation for The Last Jedi to come out, try playing the Star Wars Battlefront II instead. Released on November 17th, the fourth installment of the Star Wars: Battlefront series feature single-player and multiplayer game modes, customizable character class system, and contents based on the 2 latest Star Wars movies.

The Star Wars Battlefront II will provide free DLC for everyone with an EA account for its full campaign story mode. The first season will be released a day before The Last Jedi comes out in Malaysia and will have Captain Phasma and Finn roaming around the planet Crait.

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package

If the Nazi Zombie mode ain’t enough to fulfill zombie-killing needs, then you have a treat coming fresh out of Capcom’s oven because you can now play Dead Rising 4 on your PS4. Even though the fourth installment of the Dead Rising series has been out for a year, the Sony PlayStation version only came out 2 days ago on December 5th.

Frank’s Big Package has the same premise as the other versions of Dead Rising 4, following photojournalist/professor Frank West, and his journey into the zombie-infested town, Willamette, Colorado. The game will come with all of Dead Rising 4’s DLC as well as a new game mode called Capcom Heroes where Frank can try on outfits worn by other Capcom characters from Mega Man and Street Fighter.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris

Also released on December 5th is the expansion for the sequel to Destiny. Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris expansion focuses on the character Osiris from the original Destiny game and its lore. It also comes with new maps, including a new planet called Strikes, Exotics, Faction Gears, and a whole new set of weapons. The experience level cap will also be increased to 25 while power level cap increased to 330. So, this Christmas holiday is the perfect time to maximize your EXP and power levels to the new, increased limits.

Okami HD

As another entry from Capcom, Okami HD for the Sony PlayStation 4 will be released on the 12th of November. If you’re not familiar with Okami, this 11-year-old video game follows the story of the goddess of the sun with the form of a white wolf. Also known as Okami Amaterasu, the goddess must course through idyllic Japanese landscapes to fight monsters and save the world from darkness. Originally released for the Sony PlayStation 2, Okami HD for the PlayStation 4 will have better graphics and 4K support on the PS4 Pro.
