5 must-have lenses for your Canon 600D

11 December 2017 | Reymart Jan Sarigumba

Although the Canon EOS 600D comes with a basic lens included in its camera kit, you can further improve its performance and the quality of your images with these five additional lenses, each one has a set of capabilities that make it fitting for specific uses.

If you own a Canon 600D, then you should have additional lenses to give you enough versatility to shoot in almost any conditions. For instance, having a telephoto lens allows you to produce incredible sports photographs; a macro lens helps you shoot sharp close-up images; while a wide-angle lens is essential for landscape photography. That is why it is important that Canon 600D owners should get a hold of the following lenses.

Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS II Lens

The Canon EF-S 18-55mm is the ideal starter accessory for Canon 600D owners who purchase only the camera body since it is lightweight, compact, and affordable. Amazingly, it captures sharp images even at slow shutter speeds; thanks to its image stabilization technology.

Canon EF 8-15mm Fisheye Lens

Sporting a diagonal viewing angle at 180 degrees, the Canon EF 8-15mm lens is a dedicated fisheye zoom lens. Aside from its extreme viewing angle, it comes with a specially-designed optics that reduces ghosting and chromatic problems. For this reason, this lens is ideal for photographers who are creative and want to capture fisheye images.

Canon EF 70-300mm Lens

To help you produce sharp photos with a smooth focusing, the Canon EF 70-300mm lens gets the job done, as it sports an image stabilizer and USM (ultrasonic motor). Not only that, it excels at quick autofocus and helps maintain a sharp focus on animate objects. Unlike other similar lenses, this one offers optimal performance despite focal lengths over 200 mm.

Canon EF 17-40mm Lens

This is another entry-level lens, however, it specializes in wide-angle shots. What makes it so special is that it's coated with ultra-low dispersion elements to improve image quality and focus. Aside from that, it comes with a manual focus as well as a smooth and quick USM autofocus. In addition, the Canon EF 17-40mm USM lens wields a weatherproof build, making it ideal for outdoor photography.

Canon EF-S 55-250mm Lens

The Canon EF-S 55-250mm is one of the best lenses that offer zoom and telephoto capabilities. Many photographers like its compact and lightweight build, and also the fact that it sports a four-stop optical image stabilization. On top of that, it has a zoom that rivals macro lenses.

It not only improves the visual resolution and contrast of images shot in backlight but also enables noise reduction, allowing you to use fast shutter speeds in low light conditions at normal ISO speeds as high as ISO 25600 and still achieve sharp, vivid images with minimal image noise. With the large sensor, you can create depth in the photo by blurring backgrounds to bring attention to your subject, allowing for more dramatic shots, especially in macro and close-up shots. Wi-Fi, Nfc, and Bluetooth for Seamless Connectivity Sharing memories on social media has never been easier. Designed for iOS and Android, the Canon Camera Connect app allows you to not only save and share images and videos, but also to use your smart device as a monitor for remote shooting and playback of photos and movies.
