Tommy Hilfiger is serving major throwback vibes with his new Being Bold Capsule Collection. It features six pieces that are inspired by the designs at a "turning point" in his career as a designer. Bomber jackets, sweaters, and shirts in white and blue with the iconic "4 Great American Designers Are" Hangman print which put Hilfiger alongside major fashion labels such as Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, and Calvin Klein.
It seems that the 80s is making a comeback this season with TV shows, and movies inspired by the flashing neon lights of the 80s. Back when Madonna was the Lady Gaga, Tommy Hilfiger burst out the scene in 1985. With the help of advertising art director George Lois, Hilfiger established his name in the fashion industry, probably around the same time as Michael Jackson recorded "We are the World".
According to Hilfiger, “Seeing my name on a Times Square billboard in New York City was a surreal experience and created a big turning point in my career." this collection pays homage to that event with major throwback 80s vibe.
"At a time when our brand DNA of being bold and breaking conventions is more important than ever, I’m really excited to revisit and share our heritage with the next generation of Tommy fans.”
