Swiss Watches That Won’t Break Bank from Tag Heuer and More

Swiss watches are like the Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel of the watch world. Brands like Tag Heuer, Tissot, Omega, Breitling, and Maurice Lacroix are some of the most impeccable timepiece brands in the world but with great quality comes great price tags.

However, there are some luxury Swiss watch brands that carry affordable timepieces if you ever want to begin collecting these superior watches as they have entry-level luxury Swiss watches for beginner collectors worried about breaking their bank. Here are the some of the top affordable Swiss watch brands and their entry-level pieces.

Founded in 1853, Tissot is known by many as one of the best entry-level Swiss brands, along with Victorinox and Swatch. The brand’s most affordable collection includes the Tissot Everyday watches, starting at RM700 for a large watch. The Tissot Everyday watches uses the Swiss quartz movement and are water-resistant up to 3 meters.

Hamilton belongs to the watch brand group slightly above the entry-level brands, categorized there with Mido, Movado, and Bernard H. Mayer. The starting point of their affordable collection, the Hamilton Khaki Field, starts at RM1,048. These mechanical watches are equipped with an analog dial, water-resistance up to 50 meters, and uses the ETA Caliber 2804-2 engine.

Tag Heuer

Many think that Tag Heuer belongs in the more high-end category but the brand carries a lot of affordable watches. While the entry-level watches cost more than the entry-levels from Tissot or Hamilton, they are still considered reasonably priced for a Swiss brand. Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph, for example, starts at RM4,700; they’re a great stepping stone before you move on to the more luxurious brands.

Maurice Lacroix

Maurice Lacroix is categorized into the same level as Tag Heuer but surprisingly, the entry-level watches from Maurice Lacroix are more affordable than the ones from Tag. For instance, one of Maurice Lacroix cheapest watches, the Eliros Date, starts at RM2,900. So, if you need to choose between Tag Heuer or Maurice Lacroix, you can first start out with the latter and opt for a more expensive Tag Heuer watch after you’ve become a more seasoned Swiss watch collector.

The more popular luxury brands category includes Breitling, Omega, Bell & Ross, and Rolex. Among all of them, Omega is one of the most revered out of this category. The entry-level watches from Omega starts at RM6,267, a bit higher than the rest of the brands listed here but it’s understandable since Omega sits in a higher category.

After Omega and its category, the brands become more prestigious and extremely luxurious. This includes Hublot, IWC, Piaget, A. Lange & Sohne, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Jaeger-LeCoultre. You don’t have to rush to own a watch from these brands since their cheapest timepieces will exceed your budget. However, the five affordable watch brands above are highly recommended for starters who want to make their foray into collecting high-quality Swiss watches.
