New Balance has created some of the most iconic sneakers in the past including the New Balance 990, 574, 576, and so much more. However, despite being a "dad" shoe, New Balance doesn't fall short when it comes to serving sneakerheads with some trendy designs. New Balance has created a new "sock sneaker" or "snocker" and completely redesigned the classic New Balance 247.
Sock sneakers first made it into major fashion and sportswear in 2016 when Yeezy's first hit the shelves. From then on, many brands from Balenciaga to Zara has created their own version of sock sneakers. While it has been almost a year since sock sneakers took to the scene, New Balance is still within the knick of time to put this bad boy out.
This New Balance shoe is the latest version of the classic New Balance 247 with a twist. Instead of the usual top, this new shoe has an engineered knit collar that wraps around the ankles which gives it a "sock-like" appearance. Aside from the top overhaul, this New Balance 247 also has new rubberized accents and reflective details that are unique to the shoe.
This new 247s comes in different colorways such as tonal black, and tan colorways such as orange, beige, and light gray along with white and rubber gum outsoles.
This new iteration of the New Balance 247 is noteworthy but it's not the first time that New Balance has experimented on modernizing their products. The brand has been working on creating sleeker and more streamlined silhouettes, especially for their bulky designs.
New Balance is prized for their unique take on footwear and it continues to remain that way for this version of the 247s. It's a great mixture of a classic silhouette with a modern twist.
