One of the hottest anime series in Japan makes its way to the Nintendo DS in the form of Bleach DS Souten ni Kakeru Unmei
! Shonen Jump's popular franchise Bleach
centers on the life of Kurosaki Ichigo, a seemingly ordinary fifteen-year-old high schooler with a special power - he can see ghosts! One fateful day, he crosses paths with a female Shinigami (Soul Reaper) named Kuchiki Rukia. She's tracking an evil spirit called a Hollow, and its prey is none other than Ichigo! During a face-off with the sprit, Rukia is wounded, so she transfers her powers to Ichigo to save the day. From there, the duo embarks on a series of adventures, full of twists and turns!
Now Sega brings the spectacularly rich world of the Bleach series to the Nintendo DS in game form. Boasting some eighteen playable characters, the game is structured as a two-plane fighter featuring two main attack buttons - one for weak attack, the other for strong. The L shoulder button is used for switching between planes, while the R is used for guarding. The remainder of the face buttons are used for dashing and locking-on to an opponent. Fighting takes place on the top screen while the touch panel is used for calling up special moves and support items, such as power ups. Bleach DS also contains a zoom-in feature that occurs when the characters become packed together, then zooms out as they separate. With its various gameplay features and unique visual style, Bleach DS looks to be a real winner!
