Casshern director Kiriya Kazuaki returns with the highly anticipated Goemon, a full-blown period action epic that matches the visionary ambition and aesthetic of his first film. Produced by J-horror giant Ichise Takashige, Goemon brings together a score of familiar stars and even more familiar characters for a grand old adventure in feudal Japan. Eguchi Yosuke (Children of the Dark) leads the pack as eponymous folk hero Ishikawa Goemon, the Japanese answer to Robin Hood, along with a star-studded cast - Osawa Takao, Hirosue Ryoko, Kaname Jun, Okuda Eiji, Ibu Masato, Terajima Susumu, Gori, Tamayama Tetsuji, and Sato Takeru to name a few - essaying various historical and fictional figures. Kiriya Kazuaki makes everything larger than life with fast-speed action, uncanny costumes and set design, and the eye-boggling visuals and special effects that made Casshern and now Goemon such a spectacular cinematic experience.

Warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Okuda Eiji) rises to power in the late 16th century after the assassination of his lord Oda Nobunaga. In these chaotic times, chivalrous bandit Goemon (Eguchi Yosuke) rises as a hero among commoners, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. In one of his many escapades, he steals a box from a merchant, and passes it off to a street urchin (Fukasawa Arashi). But this turns out to be no ordinary box as warlord Toyotomi's right-hand man Ishida (Kaname Jun) soon sends ninja and childhood friend Saizo (Osawa Takao) after Goemon. What's more, a legendary ninja Hattori Hanzo (Terajima Susumu), under the orders of Hideyoshi's rival Tokugawa Ieyasu (Ibu Masato), also join the fray, leading to a swordfighting free-for-all for the box and the secret that lies within.

Kam & Ronson Enterprises Co Ltd Twentieth Century Boys Chapter 2 (VCD) (English Subtitled) (Hong Kong Version)
RM 35.60
All-star thriller 20th Century Boys continues with the blockbuster trilogy's second chapter, The Last Hope! The visionary trilogy's first chapter, The Beginning of the End, laid the roots with the tale of a group of friends who emerged as unlikely heroes in the battle against an apocalyptic evil they had unwittingly foretold as children. Picking up the story 15 years after the events of the first film, Chapter 2 introduces viewers to a Japan that has completely fallen under the fascist spell of masked cult leader "Friend" after he stepped in to save the world from the virus he unleashed. Most of the resistance fighters including Kenji (Karasawa Toshiaki) have been missing or imprisoned since the bloody New Year's Eve showdown, and are now branded as terrorists.

Kenji's niece Kanna (Taira Airi) has grown up into a spunky high school student who has inherited her uncle's drive to fight the man. For her rebellious behavior, Kanna gets sent to "Friend Land" for indoctrination, and earns the chance to enter a virtual reality world that holds the secret to Friend's identity. With Kanna's life in danger, faces from the past as well as new joiners to the cause begin to emerge from the shadows, but can this new team fight the sinister conspiracy that Friend is brewing? Who exactly is Friend, and what does his New Book of Prophecy have in store for the world?

Based on Urasawa Naoki's acclaimed manga, 20th Century Boys makes for a positively epic exercise in filmmaking and storytelling that spans multiple generations and genres, and bites into conspiracy theory, pop culture nostalgia, and spectacular special effects. Helmed by hit-making director Tsutsumi Yukihiko, the 20th Century Boys trilogy is certainly one of the greatest undertakings Japan Cinema has ever seen, with its six billion yen budget and staggeringly long cast list that runs 300 deep. Most of the first film's main cast - including Tokiwa Takako (Mamiya Kyodai), Toyokawa Etsushi (The Sinking of Japan), Kagawa Teruyuki (Sukiyaki Western - Django), and Karasawa Toshiaki (Casshern) - return for the second chapter, along with newcomer Taira Airi, Moriyama Mirai (Fish Story), Arata (Snakes and Earrings), and new additions Fujiki Naohito (Hana Yori Dango: Final) and Santamaria Yusuke (Kisaragi).

After some high-profile roles on the big screen (Ang Lee's Lust, Caution and Jackie Chan blockbuster Little Big Soldier), Taiwan pop king Leehom Wang achieves a major breakthrough in his cinematic career with Love in Disguise. Making his movie directorial debut and co-writing the script, Leehom puts his talent in finding resonance with the audience to good use through the visual media. The superstar doesn't leave his idol charisma idle either, taking the lead role in the romantic comedy with co-stars Liu Yifei (The Forbidden Kingdom), Qiao Zhenyu (Confucius), Chen Han Tien (Monga), and "Super Girl" singer-songwriter Zeng Yike. Renowned actress Joan Chen (Lust, Caution) makes a vital supporting appearance and there are some unexpected star cameos, too.

Sharing the writing duties are idol drama screenwriters Du Sin Yi (My Queen) and Chen Hung Chieh (Hi My Sweetheart), who give the genre conventions an art-mimics-life twist drawing parallels with reality. The film features Leehom as big-time pop star Du Minghan, who yearns for a simpler life free of packed schedules and relentless paparazzi. He enrolls himself in a music academy in the guise of a scruffy-looking student so that nobody recognizes him. But love isn't something that can be concealed when he meets adorable classmate Song Xiaoqing (Liu Yifei). Also responsible for the soundtrack of the film, Leehom has earned himself a Best Original Film Song nomination at the 47th Golden Horse Awards with the theme song "All the Things You Never Knew".

Louis Koo, Aaron Kwok, and Cherrie Ying star as three troubled souls who find hope in their respective lives when they find each other. Taking place in a surreal alternate reality where all conflicts can be solved with a good judo match, Throw Down is about the importance of finding joy and honor in doing what you love. To, who still calls Throw Down his favorite film in his filmography, uses every single directing trick up his sleeves to create exhilarating set pieces that prove he's one of Hong Kong cinema's greatest stylists. In addition to Milkyway regulars Lo Hoi Pang and Eddie Cheung, Throw Down also co-stars Grasshopper's Calvin Choi, Tony Leung Ka Fai, and a cameo by Jordan Chan.

Szeto (Louis Koo) is a failing bar manager who spends his mundane days wandering around in a drunken state. Mona (Cherrie Ying) is an aspiring pop singer who has run out on her unfair record deal. Tony (Aaron Kwok) is a drifter who spends his days challenging people into judo matches to prove that he's the best. Eventually, Tony and Mona become regulars at Szeto's bar for their own motivations - Mona wants a job as a bar singer, and Tony wants to challenge Szeto, a former judo champion, to a match. One of the opening films of the 2009 Golden Horse Film Festival, Summer's Tail director Cheng Wen Tang's Tear is a powerful indictment of a dark chapter in Taiwan history. Cheng was inspired by a 1982 incident in which five policemen tortured a suspect in an armed robbery case, driving the innocent man to the point of suicide. Centered on police brutality and the wrongful convictions that resulted from it, the film is the first part of an intended "Justice Trilogy" by Cheng, who plans to uncover other social injustices in Taiwan history. Unflinchingly depicting the gruesome methods of torture used to coerce suspects, the dark character study has also shaken audiences at the Pusan International Film Festival and the Vancouver International Film Festival.

Guo (Cai Zhen Nan, City of Sadness) is a middle-aged detective who hasn't cried in ten years. He's still trying to redeem for his past in suspect torturing. Leading a solitary life away from his estranged family, he instead spends time volunteering at a hospital and chatting with two teenage girls working as street vendors. However, over the course of investigating a homicide, Guo will realize that the sins of the past are not that easy to shed.

Liu Ye, Zhang Hanyu and Huang Bo are the eponymous heroes of The Chef, The Actor, The Scoundrel, a wartime comedy-drama from director Guan Hu (Cow). Set during the Sino-Japanese War in a Beijing ravaged by war, famine and plague, the film takes place mostly in an inn with four everyday folks and their two Japanese captives. The entertaining, shape-shifting story of comedy and espionage gradually reveals a labyrinthine battle of wits and masquerade among various parties with divergent motives and secrets.

A desperate Scoundrel (Huang Bo) tries to rob two Japanese travelers, but a Chef (Liu Ye) captures them first and holds them hostage in his Japanese restaurant. The Chef, his mute wife (Liang Jing, Design of Death), the Scoundrel and a rakish opera Actor (Zhang Hanyu) who works at the restaurant argue over what to do with the captives. When they learn the captives are actually scientists who have developed a vaccine for cholera, they agree to steal the vaccine formula and then sell it off for big money. Making the scientists spill their secrets, however, is easier said than done, especially when they also have to hide the captives from the Japanese army and some suspicious detectives. Meanwhile, the Chef, the Actor and the Scoundrel also may not be who they appear to be.

"Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain..."

Bringing in over seven million admissions at the box office, nostalgic blockbuster Sunny is Korea's feel-good hit of the year. Jumping between the roaring eighties and the present-day, the crowd-pleasing film follows the friendship of seven girls, then and now. Shim Eun Kyung (Romantic Heaven), Kang So Ra (4th Period Mystery), and Min Hyo Rin (Romance Town) lead the teenage rebellion as feisty, troublemaking schoolgirls whose high school brawling days cross over with the democracy protests of the eighties. Coming of age amid pop tunes, sunny times, and fearless friendship, what lives await yesterday's reckless dreamers when they meet again as adults? Winning Best Director at the Daejong Film Awards with just his second film, writer-director Kang Hyung Chul follows Speedy Scandal with another critically acclaimed smash hit that connects with audiences of all ages.

The picture of beauty and composure, forty-something mother and wife Na Mi (Yoo Ho Jung) seems to have achieved the ideal life. One day, she bumps into her old high school friend Chun Hwa (Jin Hee Kyung), who is hospitalized with terminal cancer but still as sassy as ever. They reminisce about their high school days together 25 years ago. Back then, Na Mi (Shim Eun Kyung) was the quirky, small-town girl who just moved to Seoul, and Chun Hwa (Kang So Ra) was the tough fighter who welcomed her into the "Sunny" crew. Two years after the elegant biopic Forever Enthralled, Farewell My Concubine director Chen Kaige takes on an epic story that has been dubbed the Chinese Hamlet. Sacrifice is based on the Yuan Dynasty play The Orphan of Zhao, which has been reinterpreted multiple times in the west as The Orphan of China. Bringing the story back to China, Chen has made slight changes to his own take on this tale of unspeakable sacrifice and revenge with scenes of spectacle, but he also retains the power of the story by maintaining an intimate focus on its key characters. One of China's most popular actors, Ge You leads a star-studded cast as a doctor who rescues the lone survivor of a massacre at the price of his own family for the sake of revenge. Also joining him are Wang Xueqi (Bodyguards and Assassins), Huang Xiaoming (The Message), Fan Bingbing (Lost in Beijing), and Zhang Fengyi (Red Cliff). Released in the intensely competitive year-end period in 2010, Sacrifice became one of the highest-grossing films of 2010 in China and one of Chen's most commercially successful films.

Jealous of the accomplishments of the Zhao family in the court of Duke Ling, General Tuan (Wang Xueqi) sets off an elaborate plan that leads to the massacre of the Zhao family. Before committing suicide, General Zhao's wife Zhuang (Fan Bingbing) asks family doctor Cheng Ying (Ge You) to help give birth to her son and take him to family friend Gong (Zhang Fengyi). With the help of Han Jue (Huang Xiaoming), Cheng Ying is able to take the baby to temporary safety. However, when Tuan manages to track Cheng Ying down, Cheng Ying convinces his wife to switch his own child with the Zhao baby to protect the bloodline, leading to the death of his family. Raising the Zhao child under Tuan's nose, Cheng Ying carefully plans his revenge...

He was many things to many people - a dashing warrior king, filled with ambition, courage and the arrogance of youth, leading his vastly outnumbered forces against the massive Persian armies... a son desperately longing for the approval of his stern, battle-scarred father, torn and conflicted by his mother's legacy... a relentless conqueror who never lost a battle and drove his soldiers to the very edges of the Known World... a visionary whose dreams, deeds and destiny echo through eternity, helping to shape the face of the world as we know it today. He was all that and more. He was Alexander the Great.

Oliver Stone's Alexander is based on the true story of one of history's most luminous and influential leaders (Colin Farrell) - a man who had conquered 90% of the known world by the age of 25. Alexander led his virtually invincible Greek and Macedonian armies through 22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years, and by the time of his death at the age of 32 had forged an empire unlike any the world had ever seen. The film takes a bold, honest look at Alexander's life and his relationships with his mother, Olympias (Angelina Jolie), his father Philip (Val Kilmer), his lifelong friend and battle commander Hephaistion (Jared Leto), Roxane, his ambitious and beautiful Bactrian wife (Rosario Dawson), and his trusted general and confidant Ptolemy (Anthony Hopkins). Set in Alexander's pre-Christian world of social customs and morals far different from today's, the film explores a time of unmatched beauty and unbelievable brutality, of soaring ideals and staggering betrayals.

This edition also comes with special features such as the making-of, interviews, trailers, etc.

Eighteen years after the classic Hong Kong comedy The Eagle Shooting Heroes, writer-director Jeff Lau returns with his latest fantasy comedy romp featuring an all-star cast. This time, Lau doesn't repeat his spoof of Wong Kar Wai's artsy wuxia, but comes up with a brand-new genre mashup filled with colorful characters inspired by Buddhist deities, his beloved brand of transcending romance, and loads of quotable lines and crazy, good old-fashioned "mo lei tau" gags. In a bid to surpass its unforgettable predecessor, East Meets West even lines up as many as 60 famous pop singers and actors, including Eason Chan, Ekin Cheng, Karen Mok, Stephy Tang, William So, Tan Weiwei, Jaycee Chan, Crystal Huang, Kenny Bee, and many more.

Tens of millennia ago, eight gods who ceaselessly fought each other were exiled to earth. For generations, they have been reincarnated as mere mortals, and they won't be allowed back to heaven until they've learned to coexist in harmony. Then in today's Hong Kong, a mortuary beautician (Karen Mok) and her has-been singer dad (Kenny Bee) are chased for a huge sum of money they don't owe. Turns out her materialistic stepmom (Crystal Huang) has taken a tycoon's (Eason Chan) advance payment on the false promise of organizing a concert that she can't deliver. The family is therefore forced to go on the run, and along the way they meet an assortment of quirky people, including a mute baker (Ekin Cheng), a kung fu cab driver (William So), an aspiring musician (Tan Weiwei) and her crafty sidekick (Jaycee Chan). Through a series of comic misadventures, the seven of them come to realize that they used to be gods and have a mission in this life, but...who is the eighth god that has yet to rejoin them?

Wen Zhang, Jet Li and Michelle Chen team up to become an unlikely trio of crime fighters in Badges of Fury, the hilarious feature film debut by director Wang Zi Ming. In their third pairing, Li and Zhang play a pair of less-than-competent detectives out to solve a series of confounding murder cases, with Chen playing their frustrated boss. A retro love letter to Hong Kong action comedies from the 1980s and 1990s, Badges of Fury is packed with over-the-top action (including a bicycle chase through the streets of Hong Kong) and silly humor that often defies the laws of physics.

In the tradition of a Hong Kong commercial blockbuster, Badges of Fury is also filled with special cameos by big stars. See if you can catch appearances by Raymond Lam, Michael Tse, Huang Xiaoming, Tong Dawei, Wen Zhang's wife Ma Yili, Leung Ka Yan, Kevin Cheng, Alex Fong, Stephy Tang, Tian Liang, Lo Hoi Pang and many more. Action fans will also get to see Jet stretch his fighting muscles against fellow action stars Wu Jing, Bruce Leung and Colin Chou!

The Hong Kong police are baffled by a series of bizarre murders that leaves its victim dead with a smiling face. Angela (Michelle Chen) is charged with solving the case, but her subordinates are overzealous, troublemaking detective Wang Buer (Wen Zhang) and lazy veteran Huang Feihong (Jet Li). Together, they stumble from various clues and multiple suspects, including up-and-coming actress Jinshui and her seductress half-sister Yiyi. Are the two sisters the culprits behind the murders, or will Buer and Feihong discover more sinister villains lurking in the shadows?

Hong Kong director Johnnie To pays tribute to the films of Kurosawa Akira with Throw Down, an uplifting comedy-drama about how to make lemonade when life keeps giving lemons.

Deep in debt and hiding a secret of his own, Szeto refuses to climb out of his shell. However, the encouragement from his two new friends and a powerful challenger (Tony Leung Ka Fai) will help him overcome his personal demons.

Hong Kong director Gary Mak mixes the city's favorite genres: police, sex and comedy all into one brew in his latest work SDU: Sex Duties Unit. Produced by Pang Ho Cheung, the films reminds of Pang's 2003 hit Men Suddenly In Black which takes on four men's extramarital affairs in Hong Kong; this time, the concept is similar but the setting has been changed to the Vegas of Asia, Macau. After failing an elite selection, the four-member "Special" Duties Unit played by Chapman To, Shawn Yue, Chow Hoi Kwong and Derek Tsang switch their focus from fighting crimes to a battle of pleasures.

The Special Duties Unit is the elite paramilitary tactical unit of the Hong Kong Police Force with the goal to counter terrorism and the most notorious and dangerous of criminals. After a disappointing international selection process, four members of the B team, Keung (Chapman To), Fu (Shawn Yue), Ho (Chow Hoi Kwong) and Mic (Derek Tsang), organize a private mission codenamed "Sex War." Hiding their true identities, the team illegally sneaks into Macau to visit the bordellos. Their seamless plan, however, is met with an unexpected anti-vice operation. To avoid charges, the four of them work together to break out of prison, turning their ambitious sex mission into a hilarious emergency escape plan
