The most common forms of screwdrivers are the slotted or “flat-blade” screwdrivers, used to turn slotted screws, and the Philips screwdriver used to turn screws with cross-recess heads.

Pliers are simple hand tools that can be used to hold small objects, bend and compress certain materials, and to cut and twist metal wires. Pliers also come in many shapes and sizes, but the more common ones are the needle-head pliers used to bend and snip wires, and side-cutting pliers used to hold delicate objects and cut wires and cables. As pliers are usually used to handle wires, the grips are fixed with insulators to protect users against electric shocks when working with live circuits.
