Gather 'round, love, because I want you. I want what you have, I want what you don't have, I want more of what I already have. I want. But if you so much as ask for something in return, go ahead and walk away. Know if you want to play in my world, it's every man for themselves and the weak become mine. Leeches will be obliterated because I make it my job to destroy them. I protect what's mine and I take what's yours…because that's what I do. I want. My story will not endear me to you and, frankly, I could care less if it does because I'm in this for the money and nothing else. There's nothing redeeming about me. I'm a corrupt, money hungry, immoral asshole from Los Angeles. I'm every man's worst nightmare and every girl's fantasy. I'm Spencer Blackwell…And this is the story about how I went from the world's most coveted guy to the guy no one wanted around and why I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

His greatest desire granted, the days of solitude and daydreaming are over. A duty befalls him that he must undertake. Does he have the courage to answer the call? Wanted FOR Arson. Catfished AT Santa's. Robbed AT THE Falls. Shakespeare OR Die. Driver Picks Tunes. I'm weird. This isn't news to me or anything. I have lived in a UFO my entire life. This wasn't a coincidence. My parents believe in extraterrestrial life. You know, phone home and all that crap, and they dragged my sister Mercury and I into their mess when they named us what they named us. So it wasn't a surprise, when after getting accepted to UW and expressing my desire to actually attend, they lamented that college is "just another ploy for the government to keep tabs on you, man." In other words, we won't be helping you out, Jupiter. That's fine, though, because my best friend Frankie and I can be pretty clever chicks when we want to be. We found a way up there and it was in the form of a longtime crush, his equally cute cousin, and a kickin' set of wheels. Buckle up, Buttercup, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Fisher-Price Jolie The Real Al Jolson Story
RM 21.30
Kobo

The somewhat fictional biography that follows in a work crafted from much study and research. Some details were verified by reading Harry Jolson's book, "Mistah Jolson," Michael Freedland's book "Jolson, the Story of Al Jolson," and Doug McClelland's rare "Blackface to Blacklist," written about "The Jolson Story" and Larry Parks' problems with the House Un-American Activities Committee. (Huac) Some of what you read about Al is speculation….information that cannot readily be verified. What matters is the essence of the man; what he thought about life, show business, and human relationships. Whether he ran away to Baltimore on such and such a date is simply mundane detail; what counts is that he believed in himself and eventually got the chance to prove to the world that he was as good as he said he was. In fairness, "The Jolson Story," and "Jolson Sings Again," although tremendously entertaining and well done movies, were complete works of fiction designed to make "Jolie" appear to be an easy going, twice married family man whose only love was show business. The truth was quite different. The real Al Jolson had a huge and mostly intolerable ego, suffered badly from fear of rejection, seemed to be very insecure in both his professional and personal life, was married four times, cheated with chorus girls, used call girls to alleviate stress before his Broadway performances, gambled incessantly, spent money like a madman, never got over the death of his mother, and had a long and never resolved relationship with his Jewish Cantor father who decided early on that his sons should follow in his tradition. None of his four wives were Jewish, which made things worse with his family. Al had few real friends….his often cruel and self centered personality was more than most people could long endure. Other than Martin Fried, Louis Epstein and Harry Akst, Harry Jolson was probably the only real exception. Then again, Al Jolson didn't need friends as long as he had the

Fisher-Price Chats on Costume (Illustrations)
RM 10.00
Kobo

Needless to say the present work is far from exhausting the subject of costume, which extends, indeed, over the whole field of history. For reasons of space, neither ecclesiastical nor military costume is touched upon. The book makes no pretensions to being anything more than what its title suggests-a series of chats upon a subject which fills a considerable place in the minds of, at any rate, the larger half of the community. While many works germane to the subject of costume have, of necessity, been here largely drawn upon in the way of quotation, there will, at the same time, be found a certain proportion of what may be described as fresh material, the result of the author's acquaintance with the subject in his individual practice as an artist. Indeed, the subject of dress is, or should be, an artistic matter; it was so in the past, and it will again, in the very near future, come to be recognised as one of the Decorative Arts, requiring artistic knowledge, and some perception of the fundamental laws of Design. The author's thanks are particularly due to Mr. J.s. Sargent, R.a, for his kind permission to reproduce his portrait of Miss Ellen Terry.

Fisher-Price Four Weeks in the Trenches - The War Story of a Violinist
RM 17.40
Kobo

This brief record of the fighting on the Eastern front in the great war is the outcome of a fortunate meeting. The writer chanced to be dining with Mr. Kreisler soon after his arrival in this country, after his dismissal from the hospital where he recovered from his wound. For nearly two hours he listened, thrilled and moved, to the great violinist's modest, vivid narrative of his experiences and adventures. It seemed in the highest degree desirable that the American public should have an opportunity of reading this narrative from the pen of one in whose art so many of us take a profound interest. It also was apparent that since so little of an authentic nature had been heard from the Russo-Austrian field of warfare, this story would prove an important contribution to the contemporary history of the war. After much persuasion, Mr. Kreisler reluctantly acceded to the suggestion that he write out his personal memories of the war for publication. He has completed his narrative in the midst of grave difficulties, writing it piecemeal in hotels and railway trains in the course of a concert tour through the country. It is offered by the publishers to the public with confidence that it will be found one of the most absorbing and informing narratives of the war that has yet appeared.

If you're looking for a story about a good, humble girl, who's been hurt by someone she thought she could trust, only to find out she's not as vulnerable as she thought she was and discovers an empowering side of herself that falls in love with the guy who helps her find that self, blah, blah, blah. then you're gonna' hate my story. Because mine is not the story you read every time you bend back the cover of the latest trend novel. It's not the "I can do anything, now that I've found you/I'm misunderstood but one day you'll find me irresistible because of it" tale. Why? Because, if I was being honest with you, I'm a complete witch. There's nothing redeeming about me. I'm a friend using, drug abusing, sex addict from Los Angeles. I'm every girlfriend's worst nightmare and every boy's fantasy. I'm Sophie Price. And this is the story about how I went from the world's most envied girl to the girl no one wanted around and why I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. *Can be read as a standalone.

The goal of this brief book is to use North Korea's unique, occasionally beautiful, often threatening propaganda posters to introduce and highlight the country's history, ideology, and culture. This is not an art critique or an examination of color and painting - the goal is to provoke thought and conversation about one of the world's most well-known but least understood countries. As the book unfolds, we'll see that Pyongyang's near total control of its domestic information environment is built around four main propaganda themes: the Kim family leadership, the bounty and joy offered by life in the North, unification with the South, and a combination of anti-Americanism with military-focused ethno-nationalism. These four themes reveal what is most important to the North's rulers, while the censorship of outside narratives competing against Pyongyang' official worldview reveals a vulnerability for outside policymakers anxious to find a new tool for affecting change in the North.

In Enemy, Cripple, & Beggar: Shadows in the Hero's Path, Erel Shalit provides new thoughts and views on the concepts of Hero and Shadow. From a Jungian perspective, this top-selling Fisher King Press publication elaborates on mythological and psychological images. Myths and fairy tales explored include Perseus and Andersen's The Cripple. You'll also enjoy the psychological deciphering of Biblical stories such as Amalek - The Wicked Warrior, Samson - The Impoverished Sun, and Jacob & the Divine Adversary. With the recent discovery of The Gospel of Judas, Dr. Shalit also delves into the symbolic relationship between Jesus and Judas Iscariot to illustrate the hero-function's inevitable need of a shadow. Clinical material concerning a case of a powerful erotic counter-transference is also an integral part of this deeply insightful body of work. The Hero is that aspect of our psyche, or in society, who dares to venture into the unknown, into the shadow of the unconscious, bringing us in touch with the darker aspects in our soul and in the world. In fact, it is the hero whom we send each night into the land of dreams to bring home the treasures of the unconscious. He, or no less she, will have to struggle with the Enemy that so often is mis-projected onto the detested Other, learn to care and attend to the Cripple who carries our crippling complexes and weaknesses, and develop respect for the shabby Beggar to whom we so often turn our backs - for it is the 'beggar in need' who holds the key to our inner Self. As with Erel Shalit's previously published book The Complex: Path of Transformation from Archetype to Ego, comprehensive views of the concepts and images of the Shadow and the Hero are provided and theory further explored. While directed toward an audience of analysts and Jungian oriented psychotherapists and clinicians, Enemy, Cripple, & Beggar: Shadows in the Hero's Path can be comfortably read as well by an informed lay public interested in Analytical Psychology

Dear Reader, This book is all about me and the cruel world that I inhabit. Ever since the reception class, I've stood out. I'd like to think this was because I am exceptionally funny, clever and stylish, but others say that it's down to my Crazy hair and big mouth. Whatever it is, I am definitely not to blame. A LOT of people are jealous of me and that is why going to high school will be brilliant. I will meet much better people there who don't wear pink leg warmers and glitter. If it wasn't for my best friend Frances and my she-hamster, Trevor, I don't know how I'd put up with the madness. Frances gets me, even if she still wants to play princesses-get-chased-by-witch, and that's a lot more than I can say for my stupid parents who insist on ruining my life with their stupid feuds. If only I can stop being such a loser whenever Milo Costigan is around, perhaps it'll all work out okay… See you on the other side, Ginger Mclean Great fun… I can just about remember going from primary school to secondary school and there are lots of moments in this book that made me laugh at similar things that happened to me at that age! A perfect book for pre-teens and teenage girls - I will be getting a copy for my cousin Amelia who's 10. - Keeley Edge A really good book… you want to know what happens next. A very suitable read for a young lady - 10 to 14 years, I would think. - Anne May Loved this book, it brought back memories of of how being that age came with so many 'problems'. It is written in a style that children will love and I am sure they will relate to Ginger well as I did. -dawnydeedee I'm not sure how much I should've enjoyed reading Ginger, as a 30 year old bloke, but I was hooked from the beginning and can't wait to see what's in store in the next episode…! Great, easy read with lots of laugh out loud moments. -Ben Allchin Smashing book for both boys and girls. My son loved it. A sequel would be good… in time for Christmas! -Rgs 'Ruth'

You just want things the way they were, but then something happens, a moment, an instant that sets you out on a path toward happiness you never knew could exist, and suddenly you think, huh, I don't think I want double-chocolate fudge anymore. I think I'm in the mood for this heaping serving of strawberry cheesecake sitting in front of me…with a side of kale. And a pair of split pants, but we won't get into that right now. The Orphan: A Journey to Wholeness addresses loneliness and the feeling of being alone in the world, two distinct characteristics that mark the life of an orphan. Regardless if we have grown up with or without parents, we are all too likely to meet such experiences in ourselves and in our daily encounters with others. With numerous case examples, Dr. Punnett describes how loneliness and the feeling of being alone tend to be repeated in later relationships and may eventually lead to states of anxiety and depression. The main purpose of this book is not to just stay within the context of the literal orphan, but also to explore its symbolic dimensions in order to provide meaning to the diverse experiences of feeling alone in the world. In accepting the orphan within, we begin to take responsibility for our own unique life journey, a privileged journey in which one can at some point in time say with pride, I am an orphan.

"The art of life is the most distinguished and rarest of all the arts." -C.g. Jung, CW 8, par. 789. The Cycle of Life explores the patterns that unfold over the course of our lives, as we set out to find our place in the world, in our efforts to live authentically, and in our search for home-that place within ourselves that can so easily be neglected or disregarded in this fast-paced modern world. In the first half of life, the task of the young traveler is to depart from home, to adventure out into the world to find his or her own individual path. However, in the second half, we find ourselves on what often amounts to a very long journey in search of Home. In many a tale, the hero, for instance Gilgamesh, sets off on his road to find life's elixir, while other stories, such as the Odyssey, revolve around the hero's long and arduous journey home. Many are also familiar with the journey of Dante, who at the very beginning of his Divine Comedy finds himself "Midway along the journey of our life." The archetypal journey of life is constantly reenacted in the never-ending process of individuation. We find ourselves returning to this venture repeatedly, every night, as we set out on our voyage into the landscape of our unconscious. Many dreams begin by being on the way, for instance: I am on my way to … I am driving on a road that leads into the desert … I am walking through one room after the other in a long corridor-like building … I am walking towards my office, but it looks different than in reality … I walk on the pavement and on the opposite side of the street someone seems to be following me … I go down into an underground parking … I am in my car, but someone I don't know is driving," or, I have to go to the place from where I came … Erel Shalit is a Jungian psychoanalyst in Ra'anana, Israel. He is the author of several publications, including Enemy, Cripple, Beggar: Shadows in the Hero's Path, The Hero and His Shadow: Psychopolitical Aspects of Myth and R
