News about Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro

Last month, China’s biggest mobile phone player launched its second generation Mix Max phone - the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. This phone is the successor of the Xiaomi Mi Max, a phone which had received rave reviews from the public. At that time, the device only came with one color option which is the gold variant. It was quite disappointing for many customers, especially those who prefer a different shade to their Xiaomi phone. The gold variant wasn’t really everyone’s favorite flavor, thus affected the phone’s appeal to consumers.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Malaysia: Price, Specs, and Release Date

All There Is To Know About the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro

If you are on the lookout for a budget-friendly smartphone that offers a myriad of useful features, then you cannot go wrong with a Xiaomi phone. The brand is showing impressive sales numbers across Asia and it is not planning to stop anytime soon by releasing the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The phone has big shoes to fill as it aims to emulate the success of the Redmi Note 4. On paper though, the Redmi Note 5 Pro seems to have what it takes as Xiaomi has incorporated a flurry of useful features into this upcoming device. The phone is expected to come with an immersive screen, dual rear cameras, and a speedy processor.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro price and release date

To date, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is only available in India and is sold at INR13,999 (approximately RM830) for the 4GB variant while the 6GB variant retails at INR16,999 (around RM1000). As of the time of writing, there is still no official confirmation regarding the availability and price of the device in Malaysia, although the Redmi Note 5 is already available in Malaysian stores. However, seeing that the Redmi Note 4 was immensely popular in Malaysia and Xiaomi has a strong following in the country, it is highly likely that the phone will be released here in the latter half of 2018.

Full-HD Display

The Redmi Note 5 Pro is equipped with a 5.99-inch Full-HD display with a 2,160x1,080p resolution that boasts an 18:9 screen-to-body ratio, which is quite common amongst midrange phones today. Seeing that the display has a Full-HD resolution, it is safe to expect accurate colours, stunning visuals, and sharp details for on-screen content. Moreover, the display panel provides enough brightness to be used outdoors without any legibility problems.

Furthermore, the display comes with several design improvements to improve user experience including the removal of capacitive navigation buttons in favour for on-screen keys as well as the ability to switch the orientations of the overview and rear buttons.

Powerful Processor

The Redmi Note 5 Pro will be fitted with an octa-core Snapdragon 636 chip which provides improved processing power and increased energy efficiency. This impressive processor is paired with an option of 4GB and 6GB RAM, thus potentially making this Xiaomi phone one of the fastest phones in the mid-range price category.

Dual Cameras

The Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a dual-lens camera setup for its rear shooters which comprises of a 12MP and 5MP duo. The pair captures sharp and detailed photos in all lighting conditions, making the phone a great choice for users who take photos on their phones often. On the other hand, the 20MP front shooter takes decent selfies that users can instantly upload to their social media accounts with minimal edits required.
