Xiaomi Starts Selling the Redmi Note 4 in Stores Across Asia

07 February 2018

Previously, Xiaomi officials tweeted about a new device coming soon but they did not confirm if it is the Redmi Note 4. But last year in November, the Redmi Note 4 was launched in China, and now starts selling in other countries like Nepal. Recently, Xiaomi just unveiled the device in India on May 16 and it has already sold over a million Redmi Note 4 units. As for its specifications, the Redmi Note 4 comes with a decent 296 PPI pixel density in its 5.5-inch IPS LCD display. It is available in three storage variants: the 2 GB RAM/32 GB storage, 3 GB RAM /32 GB storage, and the 4 GB RAM/64 GB storage. It houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 8 cores clocked at 1.4 GHz along with an Adreno 505 GPU. It also comes equipped with a stellar 4100 mAh battery. In the camera department, the Redmi Note 4 hosts a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front snapper as expected for a mid-range device. However, unlike many other mid-range models, it comes with a phase detection autofocus that allows shooting moving objects. Aside from these, the Redmi Note 4 hosts a micro SD slot and a dual SIM feature. In terms of the operating system, Xiaomi loaded the device with the Android Marshmallow version, unlike its high-end smartphones that host the latest Android version, the Nougat. The Redmi Note 4 sports a gyroscope, IR blaster, and a fingerprint sensor which many other phones in this range don’t have. It also comes with the basic sensors like ambient light, accelerometer, compass, and proximity. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is already out in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Hong Kong. It comes with a starting price of 673 RM (220 SGD, 7,750 PHP, and 1,215 HKD).

The phone features a gorgeous 1080p display from Sharp JDI, packing a 441 pixels-per-inch pixel density. Its user interface looks even more gorgeous with its full lamination technology which enhances its contrast and Sunlight display. This technology makes use of hardware-driven algorithms to correct the contrast of its pixels in real time. To top it all, the phone is protected with a Corning Concore Glass.

The chipset that runs this device is twice as powerful as the standard of today’s smartphones. The Mi 4i is powered by a Snapdragon 615 which is equipped with 4 processors that are clocked at 1.7GHz and another 4 cores that are power efficient which runs at a processing speed of 1.1 GHz. As for its graphics department, the phone is packed with an Adreno 405 GPU which upholds the standard in 3D gaming in mobile phones today. Lastly, the phone’s processing specs are coupled with a 2GB RAM to handle a high number of applications running at the same time. This phone work great in handling your day to day tasks and hardcore gaming.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i borrows the expertise of Sony and Samsung’s Camera. The phone’s camera sports an artistic background blurring feature and innovative photography technology that could easily adapt to different situations in order to provide outstanding results even in low-light. Its two-tone flash can intelligently correct color inconsistencies when taking a photo in a dark scenario, for a more natural looking finish. As for its front camera, selfieholics will surely love the built-in tools that will make your selfies look even more fun and gorgeous.

It’s quite amazing to note how Mi 4i is able to maintain a slim profile yet carry a considerably huge battery capacity. This phone is fuelled by a 3120 mAH battery, which is sufficient enough to keep your phone running all day long with a single charge.

This phone doesn’t want to be remembered as the low-cost version of the Mi 4, and surely it can easily convince anyone that it isn’t. With promising specs and outstanding performance, surely this isn’t just a low-cost smartphone that everyone will look down to.
