E3 2018 is happening right now from 12th June to 14th June and as always, gamers all around the world are staying up late nights (if you’re not in the USA) chasing up reports and coverage on all the upcoming games getting announced this year. Lucky for you, however, we’ve put together the five best trailers (in our opinion) announced so far from E3!
The Mobile World Congress (a.k.a MWC) 2018, one of the biggest events in the mobile industry has just recently ended last Friday in Barcelona. As we look back at the festivities, MWC this year felt a little underwhelming, probably because Samsung stole the show before the event even officially began with the launch of the Galaxy S9. Nevertheless, the show still had its fair share of highlights that is worth talking about. Hence, below are some of the most notable handsets that were seen last week.
Sony has released two new phones in February 2018 – the Sony Xperia XZ2 and the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact. However, rumours are speculating that Sony is going to release another flagship device during the second half of 2018 known as the Xperia XZ Pro. Essentially, it is a beefed-up version of the XZ2 with upgraded features such as a 4K HDR display and an awesome dual-camera setup. Only time will tell if this phone will turn out to be a superphone or will it flop. In the meantime, here is a compilation of what we know about the Xperia XZ Pro so far:
As the Xperia XZ Pro was not officially announced during the MWC 2018 event and there has not been an official statement from Sony, it still remains unconfirmed as to when the phone will be officially released. However, the phone is expected to be available sometime around the second half of 2018, possibly in September in conjunction with the IFA event. This is highly likely because Sony usually has a great presence at this event; the company released 3 smartphones during IFA 2017.
As of now, there is still no word on pricing yet but being a high-end device, you can anticipate the price to be around $600 (approximately RM2388).
For the Xperia XZ Pro, Sony should be retaining the OmniBalance design concept which gives a “fluid design” feel that the brand’s newer phones are known for. Being a flagship phone, it should be safe to assume that the Sony mobile phone will come with dust- and water-resistance. The phone is speculated to be fitted with a 5.7-inch 4K OLED screen, a first for the series.
Like many of the latest flagships released in 2018, the XZ Pro is speculated to be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and will be pre-installed with the Android 8.1 Oreo OS. Other rumoured specs include 64GB of internal storage with microSD expansion and 6GB of RAM.
Since the XZ2 did not feature a dual-camera setup, it is quite likely that it will appear on the XZ Pro. The duo should comprise of a Motion Eye 19MP snapper and a 12MP monochrome shooter. The cameras are expected to offer better low-light performance as well as super slow-mo and Steady Shot stabilization. At the front, the XZ Pro might come with a 13MP selfie shooter that also has Steady Shot stabilization.
Another good news comes in the form of the device’s battery. The phone is expected to house a 3,540mAh battery pack that comes with Quick Charging support over USB-C. Furthermore, the XZ Pro should also be installed with Sony Mobile’s Stamina mode for longer-lasting battery life. There should also be Qi wireless-charging support available for the device.
