Sony Xperia SP from the inside out

When looking for a smartphone in Malaysia, we tend to look for specs that will complement our lifestyles. The Sony Xperia SP is the one phone that exceeds expectations when it comes to usability and overall design. Let’s start with the outer characteristics. Typical of all Sony smartphones, the XP is equipped with a versatile casing. You have 3 options for colours; red, white and black. On the front, the Corning Gorilla Glass protects your device from shock and scratches. An 8 MP f/2.4 autofocus camera on the back of the device comes with LED flash.

The camera app also comes with Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama options. You can even record video at 1080p@30fps. The secondary camera is a VGA camera. To add to this, the TFT capacitive touchscreen works well with 16M colours and a size of 4.6 inches, giving you vivid and bright imaging. Typical of Sony Xperia models, you’ll find the physical buttons embedded on the right side of the device for easy access.

Features you will be proud off

On the inside, the Sony Xperia SP shows off with performance-enhancing specs. Running on the Android OS, v4.1 (Jelly Bean) that is upgradable to v4.3 (Jelly Bean), this nippy smartphone gets all your processes going in an instant. Throw in the Qualcomm MSM8960T Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with the Adreno 320 GPU and Dual-core 1.7 GHz Krait CPU, the power is boosted up for optimum speeds. The phone supports 8GB internal storage with 1GB RAM and a microSD slot for external memory up to 32GB.

Other features include A-GPS, NFC, Stereo FM radio, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and other basics such as SMS, MMS, Email and MP3/MP4 capabilities. To top it off, battery power is steady with the Li-ion 2370 mAh battery pack that keeps the device powered throughout usage. Standard talk tune on a full charge goes up to 10 hours 25 minutes on 2G and up to 19 hours on 3G while standby time is up to 635 hours. Overall, the Sony Xperia SP is one smartphone you will definitely want to consider.
