This phone is the remake of Sony’s prehistoric Xperia Arc. The Sony Xperia J is one of the earliest Xperia series from the brand which was first released in the early 2012. This phone carries what we could now consider as an entry level specification. From the Camera down to it screen display, the Sony Xperia J still is a great device to carry around with if you are just after basic phone functions with a little fun on the side.
The Sony Xperia J is one of the few phones in that carries the Xperia label that does not come with a Bravia engine for its display. Despite that, its display is able to demonstrate and outstanding performance showing great visibility even under direct sunlight. It’s display resolution is 480 x 854 pixels with a pixel density of 245ppi and all squeezed in to a 4.0-inch screen showing a crisp result.
The Xperia J is equipped with a 5MP autofocus camera paired with a single LED flash. This phone is capable of producing photos with a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels – a considerably good enough resolution to fit on an average sized desktop display without looking pixelated. On the other hand, its video recording capability allows it to produce VGA quality video, which could provide a clear enough video playback that you could enjoy.
This phone offers a polished functionality when it comes to the basics such as calls, messaging, browsing, and even SNS. The Xperia J is powered by a Qualcomm chipset with a 1GHz ARM cortex-A5 processor, Adreno 200 GPU and 512MB RAM. The phone’s processing unit is good for basic applications and games. Sony’s customized launcher coupled with Android ICS offers a smooth phone operation. The 4.0-inch screen of this device pretty much serves its purpose a basic smartphone for your basic needs.
Given that the phone is only 4-inches and run with a single core processor, it’s battery life could last for a day in a single charge with light to moderate use. The Xperia J’s battery is a 1750 mAh Li-on battery’ a considerably good amount of juice for a small sized smartphone
