Large LCD. Low noise up to ISO 800. Fast. Easy-to-use. Affordable.
Major sharpness problems at image edges. LCD shows considerable motion blur.
Given that Sonys Cyber-shot DSC-W230 ($199.99 direct) has the same 12.1-megapixel "Super HAD" CCD image sensor and "Carl Zeiss" premium lens as the $299 Cyber-shot DSC-T90, youd expect them to produce pictures of identical quality. But thats not ...

The HDTV display is particularly fine, although if this setting is chosen in-camera it does limit printing options. Images are generally sharp, well exposed and with reasonable colour accuracy, if somewhat oversaturated. We found that if the pictures ......
We have had a soft spot for the Sony W cameras in the past because they had optical viewfinders. Only Sony and Canon compacts had this feature and now Sony has gone the way of the herd. This is a retrograde step. No matter what they say, there are sit......

Not as slim as other compacts on the market, underpowered flash
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 is a 12.1-megapixel compact camera equipped with a 4x optical zoom lens. While image quality is acceptably decent, its main strengths lie in its enlarged 3in display and wide-angle lens. These help to distinguish the Cyber-shot DSC-W230 from other sub-$450 cameras on the market; never an easy feat. It’s also packed with consumer-friendly features (like face detection and smile shutter) and has an exceptional user-friendly interface. In other words, the Sony Cyber-sh
