Samsung Galaxy S6 Malaysia Features and Specs

Samsung Galaxy S6 Review – A Near-Perfect Android Phone

Now that it has been in the market for a few years and there are newer versions of Galaxy phones available, the Galaxy S6 has a more affordable price tag which makes it a value buy today. Despite being a few years old, the Samsung S6 sports impressive features that enable it to remain relevant amidst newer devices.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Design

For the S6, Samsung has left its traditional approach of using plastic for its body, opting to go for metal instead. The phone sports a strong Gorilla Glass 4 case with an all-metal band that gives it a premium look and feel. The S6 is light but still feels solid thanks to the glass and metal combination. Samsung has also done a good job maintaining the phone at a manageable size despite sporting a large 5.1-inch screen.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Display

In terms of the display, the Galaxy S6 comes with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen with 1,440 x 2,560p resolution. This translates to deep blacks, accurate colours, and sharp details, making it the perfect device to play games and watch movies on. Its brightness also enables the elements onscreen to remain legible even when used outdoors under direct sunlight. TouchWiz UI also enables you to adjust the display’s colours to your personal preference.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Performance

Being a former flagship device, you can trust the Samsung S6 to deliver impeccable performance. Unlike its predecessors, Samsung decided to equip the phone with a homemade chipset, instead of sticking with Qualcomm. Therefore, the S6 is equipped with Samsung’s very own 64-bit Samsung Exynos 7420 octa-core processor which is supported by 3GB of RAM. Multitasking and graphically-intensive games are handled with ease without experiencing any lags or slowdown in performance.

The main highlight of the Galaxy S6 is its primary camera. Using a 16MP Sony Exmor RS IMX240 sensor results in improved low-light photography compared to previous models. Launching the camera takes less than a second which is important when you need to snap photos at a moment’s notice. Photos taken in well-lit environments are vivid and sharp without being overexposed.

The Samsung S6’s photography prowess extends to its selfie camera as well. Its 5MP front shooter comes with a variety of modes including wide selfie if you want to fit more people into the photo and beauty shot that smoothens skin.

Battery Life

Although it only houses a 2,550mAh battery, the phone still has enough stamina to last through a busy day of usage on a single charge. There are also two power-saving modes for users for instances when you need to extend the battery life.
