Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 Specs, Features & Review

Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 - A Power Player in the Low-End Market

It cannot be denied that the Galaxy J1 is among the low-end devices if we base it on today’s standards, however, it’s such a surprise to have something so affordable yet very much capable of providing features and power beyond its price tag. The Galaxy J1, despite being on the lower end of the spectrum, comes with a 1.2GHz Cortex A7 processor – a processor that’s almost equally as powerful as Apple’s iPhone 4S. Which means, for an entry-level device, it could easily run applications that were once limited to entry-level devices.

Its onboard memory is 512MB, more than enough to run basic apps at the same time, in order to help you stay productive all throughout the day.

A Camera That Delivers

Who says you can’t get quality shots from a low-end phone’s camera? The Samsung J1 will dump that myth, as its 5MP shooter could take photos with great clarity and perfect lighting. On the other hand, its 2MP selfie camera is also more than sufficient enough to capture those great selfie moments. Both the primary and front camera has face detection, and could record videos at 720p; video recording has never been this great for entry-level smartphones.

On the Go All Day Long

The Samsung J1 is powered by a 1850mAh battery – a very hefty amount of juice for a small device. With that being said, the Galaxy j1 could work its way from sun up until sun down with a single charge, with moderate use. This entry-level device holds a battery equally as hefty as the iPhone 6, however, the advantage of Galaxy J1 over the iPhone 6 is that it’s not as power hungry, which means its overall hardware doesn’t consume as much as the iPhone 6, not even half of it.

You Get More Than What You Paid For

It cannot be denied that the Galaxy J1 delivers more than what you’d expect from its price range, and most importantly from an entry-level smartphone. If you’re on a limited budget and wants the best smartphone for as less money as possible, get ready to be blown away by the Samsung Galaxy J1.
