Huawei P10 Lite – A Strong Contender for the Budget-Friendly Crown

The high-end Huawei P10 had garnered an overwhelming response when it was released, however, it might be a little too costly for some. Hence, Huawei has released a cheaper version of the flagship known as the P10 Lite. Although the latter does not come with dual cameras nor the same internal components as the flagship version, it still has impressive features for its affordable price tag.

The P10 Lite features a classy look thanks to its sleek, rounded corners on the glass and a diamond-cut metal frame with a glass back. There is no physical home button as the P10 Lite uses on-screen navigation keys. The phone is available in four colours – Sapphire Blue, Pearl White, Midnight Black, and Platinum Gold that gives off a nice shine when lights are flashed on them.

In terms of display, the P10 Lite is fitted with a 5.2-inch Full-HD IPS display. The 1920 x 1080p display gives off a respectable 423 pixels per inch, meaning that it offers sharp colour and image quality for playing games or watching movies. Furthermore, the display is bright enough to be used both indoors and outdoors under direct sunlight. You can also change the colour temperature of the display in the Settings menu to become warmer or cooler to better suit your tastes.

Internal Hardware

The Huawei P10 Lite comes with an in-house octa-core Kirin 658 processor in its core that can handle multitasking. The powerful core is supported by 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The combination of internal hardware components enables the smartphone to handle games well and switching between apps is also smooth.

The P10 Lite comes with a 12MP camera with phase detection autofocus and a f/2.2 lens that takes decent photos with ample details and defined dynamic range. The photos also have impressive colours and contrast without any noticeable noise. The smartphone’s camera app is quite comprehensive as it offers multiple shooting modes for users to experiment with such as full manual mode, panorama light painting modes, as well as slow motion and time-lapse recording for video-shooting. The camera is also equipped with an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture which allows users to take Instagram-worthy selfies without any editing needed.

If you think you can live without the dual cameras or super high-speed performance but still able to handle your everyday tasks without slowing down, then this phone is a good catch.
The price is reasonable for the specs it offers. Good phone to consider if you are on a tight budget.
