News about Huawei Nova 2 Plus

Chinese smartphone giants, Huawei first entered the high-end smartphone scene in 2012 and they are unlikely to leave anytime soon with their recent achievement. Huawei has just announced that they have shipped more than 10 million copies of their flagship Huawei P9 and P9 Plus’ worldwide – making them the first models in Huawei’s inventory to achieve this remarkable feat. Despite a slow international market in terms of smartphone sales in 2016, this impressive result has proven that Huawei’s decision to invest in international markets is paying off handsomely. The announcement was made by Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) in a press release released at the end of December 2016.

Huawei Nova 2 Plus Specs & Features

Huawei Nova 2 Plus Review: A Midrange Phone with Premium Specs

The Huawei Nova 2 Plus comes with a premium design and costs less than other midrange devices. It sports a top-notch selfie camera and impressive audio output – which are the main selling points of this handset. Aside from that, there are other reasons why this device remains as one of the most sought-after devices from Huawei.

Remarkable Design and Build

At just 6.9mm thickness, the Nova 2 Plus sits comfortably in your hands and is easier to use than other phones with a similar screen size. Although there are bezels present on the top and bottom, they don't feel oversized. In terms of features, the Nova 2 Plus holds the SIM tray on the left which can take one nano-SIM and one micro SIM, or a MicroSD card. On the right, you can find a textured power button, as well as volume keys that are easy to reach. Moving to the bottom, the Nova 2 Plus features a USB Type-C port along with a 3.5mm jack. Meanwhile, the back holds the dual camera setup along with a flash on the top and the fingerprint sensor below it to the centre. The front of the phone sports a large glass slab with noticeable bezels on the top and the bottom.

Impressive Interface

The Nova 2 Plus not only runs Android 7.0 Nougat, it is also coupled with the EMUI that looks nice and offers a lot of customization. With that, users can choose between having all their apps appear on the home screen or having an app drawer instead with only a few of their most used apps and widgets taking up home screen space. They can also change themes and icons through the Huawei themes app. All in all, the Nova 2 Plus’ UI is very smooth to navigate, allowing users to easily switch between apps or scroll through long lists and web pages without noticing any stutter.

Great Multimedia Experience

A cutting-edge audio technology is integrated into the Nova 2 Plus that helps to minimize distortion and other disturbances in audio processing to keep music clean, crisp, and true. While audio is a great selling point for the Huawei Nova 2 Plus, its hardware isn't necessarily well-equipped to tackle the demands of graphics-intensive games. Its Kirin 659 chipset is only good for casual and less demanding games, allowing them to run smoothly with no noticeable frame drops.

Massive Selfie Camera

The Huawei Nova 2 Plus features a 20MP dual camera setup on the back that is excellent at taking wide-angle and long-focus shots. Although the device doesn’t come with an optical image stabilization, the Nova 2 Plus makes up for it by having a massive 20-MP front camera with a ten-grade beautification selfie. This ensures natural, healthy, and vibrant selfies.
