Asus FonePad 8: Get Your Basics Covered
Renowned computer manufacturers Asus is setting its sights on another consumer electronics industry - smartphones and tablets. The brand is committed to providing a reliable phablet for the masses. Hence, in comes the FonePad 8, a lightweight phablet that features an 8-inch LCD display and a sleek design. Find out more about the top FonePad 8 features below.
Asus FonePad 8 build quality and design
In terms of build quality, the Asus FonePad 8 is nothing short of extraordinary. Competing with the top tablet brands in the market, the Asus FonePad 8 features Asus’ signature Oleophobic-coated casing with an 8-inch Full-HD display IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen in front. For its size, the FonePad is relatively lightweight at 328g which makes it quite comfortable to hold and carry around. Thanks to its thin bezels, the phablet is still able to retain a manageable size despite sporting an 8-inch screen.
Optimized for multitasking and organizing
The FonePad 8 is one handy tool for organizing your daily activity. This phablet is the first Android device to sport Intel's Moorefield based Atom Z3530 1.33GHz quad-core processor, which provides enough speed to handle most everyday processes although the performance might be affected slightly when handling heavy tasks such as gaming. The phablet also comes with dual-SIM capability also allows you to optimise the device for both work and play.
Storage space and camera features
For every tablet, storage space is typically one of the key selling points. The Asus FonePad 8 comes with 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD. This memory capacity should suffice even for heavy users who like to download many apps onto their mobile devices. In terms of RAM, there are two variants to choose from - 1 or 2GB.
Moving on to the camera on the FonePad 8's , the FonePad 8’s rear camera is a 5MP autofocus shooter while the front is a 2MP camera that takes decent selfies that you can upload onto your social media. Although you won’t usually buy a tablet for its camera features, the FonePad 8’s camera performs quite decently in well-lit conditions which is enough for everyday usage.
Basic features of the FonePad 8 include GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspot capabilities along with stereo speakers and MP3/MP4 compatibility. A bunch of sensors that come in handy are the accelerometer, proximity, compass while MMS, Email, Push Mail and IM are suitable for work. As for battery power, the FonePad 8 sports a non-removable Li-Po battery (15.2 Wh) that gives 3G talk time up to 21 hours.
Overall, the FonePad 8 is one hybrid tablet you have to consider. If you love Asus (which we’re guessing you do), then you should take a sneak peek at the Asus FonePad 8.
