Where is Cadbury chocolate made?

Cadbury chocolate has entered Malaysia for over 40 years now. But did you know where it is made? Now, let's go down memory lane. It was established in Birmingham, England in 1824, by John Cadbury. He developed the business together with his brother Benjamin, and later hands the reigns of the business to his sons Richard and George.

John started his business journey from a small grocery store next to his father's silk business in Bull Street, Birmingham. At that time, he sold hops, mustard, and some cocoa and drinking chocolate produced from cocoa beans. He then rented an old warehouse to use as a factory as he decided to fully focus on the production of cocoa and drinking chocolates. That was the time when his brother joined and the company known as "Cadbury Brothers."

Although there was some struggle in maintaining the business by the young Cadbury Brothers, their dedication to developing new products and improving the quality help with the business survive and success to spread the love of chocolate to the world. The first milk chocolate bar was produced in 1897 using the leftover cocoa butter from its drink powder.
